The World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF) is one of the largest and most experienced conservation organizations in the world and is active in more than 100 countries. It has around five million supporters worldwide. The WWF's global network has 90 offices in more than 40 countries. Around the world, employees are currently carrying out 1, 300 projects to preserve biodiversity. The WWF wants to stop the global destruction of nature and the environment and create a future in which people and nature live in harmony with one another. Nature conservation concerns us all. The preservation of intact habitats and the conservation of wild animal and plant species are an indispensable necessity for the survival of humanity. The WWF has been committed to the preservation of biodiversity worldwide for more than 60 years. The most important instruments of WWF's conservation work are the designation of protected areas and the sustainable, i.e. environmentally friendly use of our natural resources. In addition, the WWF is committed to reducing environmental pollution and wasteful consumption at the expense of nature.
